Automated liquid handling

The I.DOT from Dispendix is a device for automated, non-contact dispensing of liquids in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. It is used in high throughput screening as well as in academic research. The device is based on "Immediate Drop on Demand Technology," or I.DOT, which was developed at the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA) in Stuttgart. The three-minute animated film is aimed at a specialist audience and explains how the I.DOT technology works and the resulting features of the device.
